Specialising in emergency response in developing countries

Our mission is to improve the lives, health and capabilities of those affected by disaster, disease and conflict throughout the world.

We are an established team of veteran emergency response managers with a recognized ability to design, manage, capacity build and guide international humanitarian emergencies and programs.

Extensive leadership experience with emergency organizations.

Having worked for many years in Indigenous remote area health in Australia and internationally with Respond Global, MSF and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, we provide guidance and mentorship with planning, implementing and evaluating emergency responses and the tools used to deliver them, and with the development, review and delivery of training curricula.

We’ve seen it all.

We bring extensive experience working with National Societies responding to a broad spectrum of emergencies, from natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, famines, droughts), epidemics and pandemics (Cholera, Ebola, Yellow Fever, Meningitis, Measles, COVID -19) and conflict. We are sectoral experts in Public and Emergency Health, Shelter and Settlements, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (software component), and Shelter and Logistics Coordination.

We have deployed at all levels of the Red Cross Red Crescent system: as delegates, program and field coordinators, team leaders, operations managers, and as Inter- agency Standing Committee (IASC) Cluster Coordinators. Additionally, our experience extends to working in the primary health care model (PHC) in remote communities in Australia and developing countries.

“Socorro is an expression of our commitment to working with the world's most vulnerable communities to enhance their health and capabilities so that they can live the lives they value.”
